Orange County’s Credit Union seeks a Director of Core Software Engineering to create an exceptional digital experience for our Associates and Members. This role involves identifying opportunities to improve our digital services, developing solutions with general guidance, and communicating complex software designs. Ideal candidates should have strong software engineering discipline, practical problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage diverse information from daily operations. Experience with Symitar PowerOn development is highly preferred, as it will be the primary focus of this role. Responsibilities include software development and maintenance across application stacks, collaboration with team members to translate business requirements into technical solutions, and applying secure design, DevSecOps practices, and industry trends to enhance service. The successful candidate will consistently embody our "Put People First" philosophy, leveraging personal strengths and fostering team success to deliver extraordinary experiences for internal and external Members.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Math, Physics, or a related technical field and has at least one year of experience as a Software Engineer, developing enterprise-scale business solutions and delivering seamless user experiences in collaboration with cross-functional teams. Candidates should possess strong software development skills, including design, implementation, and testing, and demonstrate the ability to quickly adapt to new programming languages. At least 1 year of hands-on development experience with Symitar PowerOn is required. Proficiency in programming languages and platforms such as .NET, C#, C++, Objective-C, Swift, Java, JavaScript, React.js, React Native, Figma, headless CMS, and HTML5 is essential, along with experience working with integration frameworks and architectures like APIs and micro-services (REST/SOAP or JSON/XML). Familiarity with Agile development, DevSecOps practices, relational databases (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server), and code repositories/version control systems like Git is highly desirable. Strong problem-solving skills, excellent written and verbal communication abilities, and financial institution experience are all pluses for this role.

The starting salary range is $190,000-$215,000.
