We seek a Software Engineer I to join our team in delivering exceptional digital experiences for both Associates and Members by improving our digital services through collaboration and innovative solutions. This role requires developing digital capabilities under general guidance, effectively communicating complex software designs, organizing information from daily operations, and demonstrating strong software engineering discipline and problem-solving skills. Experience with Symitar PowerOn development is highly desirable, as it will be a primary responsibility of the role. Key duties include performing software development and maintenance activities across the application stack, participating in requirement and design discussions, translating business requirements into technical solutions, contributing to code reviews and continuous refactoring efforts, applying secure system design principles, and leveraging DevSecOps practices to enhance productivity and minimize errors. The candidate is expected to uphold our “Put People First” service philosophy, demonstrate leadership at all levels, maintain compliance with policies and regulations, and embody the values of mutual respect and collaboration while supporting the Credit Union’s mission and goals. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed to accommodate the role's and organization's dynamic needs.
Help Us Get to Know You
We are looking for a highly skilled Software Engineer I with a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Math, Physics, or a related technical field and at least one year of experience delivering enterprise-scale business solutions and seamless user experiences. The ideal candidate will possess strong software development skills in design, implementation, and testing, with proficiency in programming languages such as .NET, C#, Java, React.js, and experience with Symitar PowerOn. A solid understanding of Agile development, DevSecOps practices, integration frameworks (API, microservices), and relational databases is essential, along with expertise in code version control systems like Git. Financial institution experience, knowledge of credit union regulations, and proficiency in Microsoft programs and collaboration tools are highly valued. Candidates must exhibit excellent communication skills, goal-oriented problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple priorities effectively in a team or independent setting. The role involves working a flexible schedule, performing occasional physical tasks, and maintaining a professional demeanor while contributing to a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
The starting salary range is $120,000-130,000.
