Steven Rick

In his role at CUNA Mutual Group, Rick’s primary responsibilities include conducting strategic research, analysis, and forecasting of the financial services industry with special emphasis on the consumer and credit union markets.
Rick’s forecasts serve as a starting point for the strategic planning process and help to create a clear understanding of the underlying trends and links between the general economy, the financial services industry, and CUNA Mutual’s policy owners. Steve publishes the Credit Union Trends Report, a monthly “pulse check” on the economic state of the credit union movement. He has authored a textbook on asset-liability management for credit union executives.
Before joining CMG Rick was the Senior Economist for CUNA & Affiliate’s Economics & Statistics Department for 22 years. Steve also serves on the Board of Directors of the University of Wisconsin Credit Union, a $2.4 billion financial institution.
Paul Chong
Senior Vice President
CUNA Mutual Retirement Solutions
In his role, Chong is responsible for leading the development of CUNA Mutual Group’s Retirement Solutions business in both the credit union and small business markets. He oversees the company’s teams in Madison, Wis. and Great Bend, Kan.
Chong brings more than 18 years of senior leadership experience in many segments of the retirement industry, with core expertise in sales and relationship management. He has a proven track record of creating and executing successful growth strategies at leading financial institutions.
Prior to joining CUNA Mutual Group, Chong served as executive director, head of institutional consulting and 401(k) at UBS, where he was directly responsible for UBS Wealth Management’s $100-plus billion Institutional Consulting and Corporate Retirement business. In addition, Chong served as executive vice president for business development at Prudential Retirement and president of Corporate Market Groups for CitiStreet. He also spent time as an entrepreneur and owned businesses in Florida.
